40 KW is nothing to sneeze at...the average home runs on 2-4KW. It is probably very tiny as well, since the navy knows how to do that on subs. And they run for 10 or 15 years IIRC
The part the people don't seem to be getting is NUCLEAR PROPULSION!!! This literally opens up mars, the moon and solar system!!! Real space enthusiasts have been wanting nuclear propulsion instead of stupid chemical systems. We freaking had nuclear rockets in the 60's in testing in the damned 60's FFS!! A JOURNEY TO MARS WITH A CHEMICAL ROCKET WOULD TAKE 6 MONTHS...A NUCLEAR ROCKET 6 WEEKS!!
