Lol yeah, it sort of even crashed my desktop Excel. Like it did open, but only opened a small portion of it and wouldn't open the rest stating it was too big. This is on a system with a ton of ram too, so it's more of a program issue than computer speed issue.

Deep analysis will likely need to be done through the command line, or database tools. Something capable of handling large files.

I'm on Linux, but also a fairly low-end computer. Maybe it will work.

It'll most likely be fine then. May not be able to open it fully in libreoffice/openoffice, but if you use terminal/command line with linux, you'll be able to search through it no problem. Most likely bottleneck will be disk read/write speed.

Source: Have searched through 100GB+ text files on linux with no issue.

Breaking out the whiskey and leaning in...

I'm trying to figure out how to cross-search with DC and government officials elected and appointed. I realize that's a huge and disparate list. Where should I start to get a list like that, beyond a list of senators/representatives? It seems like I'd need to get that paired with spouses, which really seems unreasonable. I won't really know until this finishes downloading.

That's the big part I was wondering about. We have this list, but I haven't been able to easily find a big list of government officials/other important people to cross reference it with. Spouses would definitely need to be included. I can't really think of anything other than just getting a big group of people together to scour the net.

I doubt such a list is easily findable, like an alpha roster. You’d almost have to petition into pieces of government, then manually entering and hunting for spouses once you get past the easy gains.

Found this linked on https://wearethene.ws/

Remember hearing about a big list leaked the other day? People have translated it. Just found this, so I can't comment on it's accuracy, but figured it'd be helpful.

Be interesting if someone ran a script to cross reference these names with people who are high up in government, media, big tech, the educational system, and basically everything else high level in this country. How deep does the infiltration go?

https://github.com/unitedstates/contact-congress Would this help? I’ll have to figure out how to open some of those files

That does look like it would help. .YAML files should be text with some extra formatting, so standard text editing tools should be able to open the files, but I feel like we'd need some sort of script to do the actual cross referencing, otherwise it'd take forever.
