What needs to happen sadly is our federal government cancelling debts to foreign nations and then NOT borrowing against our future again. Most people don’t grasp that debt is used as a lever to compel policy makers to authorize inflationary policies. Other benefit of the bio weapon is that most nations are not going to be attempting any imperial expansion and the ones that do will be at a disadvantage as the away team. One of the biggest reasons that nationalism is the best flavor of political ideology to be supporting at the moment. Socialism destroys itself if contained (it eventually contains itself historically by spreading out too much).
Maintaining dominance in space is paramount as well for a bunch of reasons but in this context it’s so that socialists cannot sell the Star Trek dream to their populace’s through propaganda. It wouldn’t work but would allow them access to enough resources to potentially outlast competitive market based economies. We just have to keep being first where it matters and striving to be first everywhere. America first.
Wrong, inflation is something we can't escape and it hits the middle/low class the hardest, our wages won't increase accordingly.
