Show me a teacher afraid of the flu (it goes with the job) and I'll show you a teacher wanting to telecommute and zoom for 20 minutes a day at full pay. POS's.

Fuck the teacher's too. Who do you think make up the unions that protect shitty teachers and give us shitty curriculum and school policies?

Work in a school. Teachers are some of the most self-absorbed, childish and entitled people I've ever had the misfortune to work with. There ARE good ones, and the good ones are an absolute treasure. But the bad outweighs the good from what I've seen, at least in my district. And I'm talking mid to upper class white neighborhoods.

magaeducator 9 points ago +10 / -1

Yup, this is my first year as a teacher, and some of the teachers at my school are complete bitches and hate the kids. It's sad

9
FuckChinaRaw 9 points ago +9 / -0

Half of the teachers in the US were in the bottom third of their class.

There are passionate, motivated teachers, but they are required to value being a teacher over making money.

Then you have the ridiculously powerful unions that make it almost impossible to fire bad teachers. My school district had to pay at least a year of severance to the teacher that they fired after it became known that he was fucking an 18 year old that went to our high school.

We need to make public employee unions illegal and increase salaries to attract better teachers.

Unions are the worst thing to happen to teachers since people that have nothing better to do going to teachers' college

3
DemsHaveNoHomeHere 3 points ago +3 / -0

🀣

They probably charge taxpayers >$30/hr and after union dues and taxes it comes out to $15/hr.

7
Ogcarvattack 7 points ago +7 / -0

We started homeschooling because of this shit. The curriculum is great too. Front line fighting. ADVANCE THE LINE!

2
DemsHaveNoHomeHere 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fuck teacher unions and most public union industries.

Saw this on Reddit. We obviously need day care for the people who work. We know this.

It's just amazing to me that they still pay these teachers in the CPS. The students have piss poor performance and that was while they were still in class. Their main job then was to babysit. Now they aren't even doing that.

The CPS is a money hole. My relatives in Illinois have always thought so, but now that the media is saying this is normal, they now just bury their heads in the sand.

The state of Illinois is in budget free-fall. If Trump is reelected, their state won't be able to pay their bills because they won't get a bailout. Same with NY and California.

The people who care about politics in Illinois have resigned to being stuck in a neo-liberal agenda. It's now just about trying to avoid becoming a progressive shit hole like Chicago. In 6 months, Chicago has gone from being safe north of the Loop to being "Gotham".

Even the residents of Chicago know that they are cooking the books in the Census and the election. With Kim Fox as AG, they don't even hide the crime anymore. If you say anything, you will become a target, and people will come out of the woodwork to harass you and they will be getting paid well to do so.

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear... years of fictional tv and movies notwithstanding...

Spending a million dollars a student won't help the majority of those kids....

Destroy the teachers unions and fire these worthless pieces of shit.

3
MrscgLittle 3 points ago +3 / -0

Exactly, the teachers unions need to be decimated, they have been filled with literal commies from the start. If I had the authority, I would gladly fire every last teacher who refused to come to work. Someone needs to put them in check and force them to acknowledge the reality that they are NOT in fucking danger.

Dude we live in Indiana and my kid goes to a camp where high schoolers are paid to watch him and 100 other kids with parents that actually have fucking jobs. So you’re telling me it’s safe to have 100 kids together in one space but now 25 kids. Gtfoh. 🀑🌎

The democrat way. Pay as many people as possible to do as little work as possible no matter how ridiculous it gets.

5
MakeAmericaGreat9 5 points ago +5 / -0

If you read, you'd see that it's the teachers union that doesn't want to go back.

Unions once again fucking over America

5
magaeducator 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's the unions. I'm a teacher and my union is pushing to keep us closed. If I could, I'd teach in person.

5

3
defroach84 3 points ago +3 / -0

Ah yes gotta hire 1000 mask [email protected] to run around squawking at the kids to stay masked. Can't have oxygen reaching their brains otherwise they won't grow up to be progressive democrat voters.

This is how you grow government employees and then turn to the taxpayers and claim the need for more money... to pay teachers and pay class room supervisors.

1
Dontdoxxxmeplease 1 point ago +1 / -0

Omg, I live near that area not chicago or illinois specifically but the CTU protests every year about how the teachers don't get paid enough and the students don't have enough resources and they keep kids out of school for months every single year and its sort of like no duh the kids don't have resources because it has to be spent on your salary so you stop striking and then no duh there isn't any money left for the kids if you think I am bullshitting the did this last year and the year before the union is for the teacher and not the kids they don't give a fuck about the kids on the teachers and they're complete scum.

1
tremendous_trump2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is what you get when you elect democrat mayors and governors, especially ones who take large donations from unions. You get policy decisions influenced by the highest bidders rather than the citizens, policies based on what will benefitthe organizations making donations rather than what is good for the citizens.

1
Riverine 1 point ago +1 / -0

Kids would be better off being taught by the new hires

1
DemsHaveNoHomeHere 1 point ago +1 / -0

"The other 1,000 new hires will earn $15 an hour and no benefits. These people will focus on COVID-19 compliance."

WTF!

You're going to get a bunch of incompetent threats to children to enforce rules for $15!!! They pay more at McDonald's they're deliberately going after a base that will no doubt be filled with predators.

I work for a university and the profs are using students to teach their virtual classes because..? I know TA's are a known thing in academia but these profs are literally forcing their students to teach for them while they can be anywhere in the world. It was addressed in our faculty meetings. Kinda like where I live, you need to pass a security check to become a postal worker delivering mail but many contract out their duties to "contractors" with no background checks. The mail carrier can swallow up multiple routes get paid for them and then sub-contract the routes out for close to minimum wage. Everything is a sham.

Amazing! I actually hope they temps succeed and demonstrate you don't need the teachers union to get kids back to school. The teachers union is full of shit, they're not even willing to trust the science and public health experts and volunteering to take the vaccine, that would mean party time at home is over and you have no excuse not to get back to work. I would love their leader Being Biden to encourage the union to force the vaccine on them.

1
Ogcarvattack 1 point ago +1 / -0

Poor kids. Don't let them do this to your children! Wtf is wrong with you people in chi-raq?

1
MikeVicksAstrologist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Useless fucking trash. These teachers should lose their jobs immediately. I'm very tired of teachers acting like it's some great sacrifice wgen it's a kushy job with over the top pay.

Yea I said it, for the shitty results we get, our teachers are far overpaid. Tie their pay to student performance and see how fast these useless turds get back in the classroom.

Everytime you go by a school you see a fleet if brand new SUVs, but those teachers sure are struggling!

Fuck. Off.

-6
Covidkid -6 points ago +3 / -9

I actually think this is acceptable in some cases where an older teacher might have legitimate concerns but it's not necessary for most teachers.

11
fingerofkek [S] 11 points ago +11 / -0

Concerns of being shot?

5
sordfysh 5 points ago +5 / -0

This was always an issue in Chicago, but now it's a reality.

-3
Covidkid -3 points ago +2 / -5

Concerns of being infected and being in an age or health category where their course of illness could be severe and possibly result in death. There's very old teachers around.

7
Pikes985 7 points ago +7 / -0

Are they 80 year old teachers? Otherwise, their risk is so tiny as to be non existent, just like most of the world. According to the Brit NHS, no one has died only of covid. All deaths have been from Co-morbidities.

5
AnointedVisions 5 points ago +5 / -0

If they're concerned they can look for other jobs and let people who can do the job step in

3
MrscgLittle 3 points ago +3 / -0

Then her old ass can take a leave of absence or a sabbatical and come back when she wants to put the education of her students before her fear of seasonal respiratory illnesses
