Work in a school. Teachers are some of the most self-absorbed, childish and entitled people I've ever had the misfortune to work with. There ARE good ones, and the good ones are an absolute treasure. But the bad outweighs the good from what I've seen, at least in my district. And I'm talking mid to upper class white neighborhoods.
Half of the teachers in the US were in the bottom third of their class.
There are passionate, motivated teachers, but they are required to value being a teacher over making money.
Then you have the ridiculously powerful unions that make it almost impossible to fire bad teachers. My school district had to pay at least a year of severance to the teacher that they fired after it became known that he was fucking an 18 year old that went to our high school.
We need to make public employee unions illegal and increase salaries to attract better teachers.

Yup, this is my first year as a teacher, and some of the teachers at my school are complete bitches and hate the kids. It's sad

They probably charge taxpayers >$30/hr and after union dues and taxes it comes out to $15/hr.
We started homeschooling because of this shit. The curriculum is great too. Front line fighting. ADVANCE THE LINE!
