Applied for my FID and pistol permits on august 3rd in NJ. I have still yet to receive them and I have made over 7 attempts to get them from my town. The state police processed my info on October 5th.

I have shown up twice and have called to try and pick it up only to be told that they’re not available and to call back the next day. They keep the doors locked 24/7 now because of covid so I can’t even barge in there
Should have had ammo. Should have kept ammo. Same concept as food. I do hope you've got some food stockpiled? Three months rent? Taking the piss with that last one. But did you think in the event of a happening you'd just walk down to the local walmart and pick up a box of shells? It's hard to find ammo because everyone is buying ammo. Also, you should try online. It won't be cheap but you can find ammo to be delivered to a local gun shop for pickup.
Now that I've gotten past the part where I act like an asshole. Let me give you little hope. As long as you've got enough to defend your home, if and when things really get so bad that there is any type of open armed conflict people with supply will be more than likely to hand them out to people willing to stand with them. One man can't shoot fast enough to empty all those ammo crates, now can he?
I do have some, but damn, I want more! I love to reload and shoot. I cant shoot right now! I have been stockpiling both, just hate to dip into my supply for recreation.
The 2A is the only thin line protecting ALL the other ammendments. To destroy is neccessary for creating a new serfdom.
