Ever since I was a youngin' little teenager, scanning the radiowaves in the middle of the night looking for something interesting and stumbling upon Loveline (with your Main Man Mayonnaise, Ace Rockolla) I was a fan. His humor was perfect, the snark and the snide manner of factual cut-through-the-shittery with necessary bouts of empathy, the perfect opposite of the stick-up-the-butt Dr. Drew.
Man Show was silly and goofy fun, a little thumbing the nose at the potential problem of political correctness run amok (o little did we know, children, little did we know...) while keeping it light hearted. Fine, that was fun entertainment.
Stand up was fine and decent, but his real bread and butter was leading a show. Happily joined up with his podcast and enjoyed many episodes of his various shows, from touching on relationship stuff as a nice nod back his Loveline days, to his car show, to his show completely centering around home improvements and carpentry. (passions of mine, as well, I'm big into playing with wood in my meaty hands - take that as you will)
Much, much later down the line, I find a sense of weird salvation to know that he is one of the only people in the entertainment industry with a decent head on his shoulders, and the balls to continue campaigning for personal accountability and responsibility, for right over wrong.
