I’m as based as any of you I disagree with lockdowns and the government telling us and businesses what we can/cannot do. The government has zero right to suppress us and using covid as a weapon to silence and control us.
Having said that, I cannot allow false information on this site. Hospitals ARE being overrun right now. More so than other years. This is not your normal flu, stop believing that. The virus IS real. It IS highly infectious, it IS more dangerous than the common flu. Making pretend it is not makes us just as bad as the fake media. The virus has been weaponized as a weapon of fear. It is not as dangerous as the media portrays, it doesn’t mean though it’s not dangerous to certain people though. Most people will just experience a bad flu, that’s it.
I got off the phone with my sister a few hours ago who was telling me how the number of covid patients is drastically increasing. She’s currently on ICU and on the frontilnes. My other doctor friends have told me the same in the past few days. All I’m trying to say is don’t be dumb and believe everything is bs. Take personal responsibility and do what you believe is right, you’re an adult you can take care of yourselves.
Why is all-cause mortality for 2020 still on track to roughly match figures from 2019 and previous years? The Spanish flu killed 5% of the global population. Covid-19 is on pace to kill a smaller share of the global population than the flu did in 2018.
There is no escaping this stat. It doesn't matter how many anecdotes people produce. If all-cause mortality doesn't budge more than a standard deviation, then we weren't dealing with a significantly more dangerous virus than usual.
Given inexplicable reductions in heart disease deaths, the most likely explanation is a shift in deaths from more traditional causes to covid-19. Whether or not that shift is legitimate or bullshit doesn't really matter - total deaths appear to be largely fixed.
Globalists tricked us into destroying our economies and giving up our freedoms in order to stop a virus that is resulting in zero additional net deaths. That's reality.
Again, fake news. Those stats are correct, the interpretation is wrong. Do you know when the highest death rates are in the year? It’s in the summer. Reason being more people are out, more people being out means more partying, more drinking and driving, more car accidents, more fights, more murders (this one is an exception though since murder rate is I believe higher). Basically, more people out and about living their lives = more death.
That hasn’t been the case though this year. People have been forced indoors which means all other “normal” causes of death have decreased as well. Even other transmissible diseases/viruses have decreased due to lock downs which brings the world death toll even lower. This has a balancing effect on death rates.
Now I have no doubt that there are cases were someone died of something else, but happened to have covid so they marked it as a covid death. Hospitals are greedy and I wouldn’t be surprised if that has occurred so they can get more government money.
You also need to understand that those who were bad enough health wise to have died from lets say heart disease this year would have easily succumbed to covid due to their already failing body. A quarter (just a guess, zero scientific data for this) of the people who perished due to covid would have died from their underlying conditions this year anyway, but since covid got them first it goes down as a covid death.
I hate lockdowns and think at this point they’re completely unnecessary. Pandora’s box has been opened, trying to control the spread of the virus is like trying to control the trajectory of a category 5 hurricane. I believe it’s being used to suppress us at this point as well and shut down small businesses. However, that doesn’t mean the math is wrong.
