Russia knows that if China gets a foot hold in Iran China will control the oil but also China wants global take over. Russia will also be on China's list to dominate. So I think Russia will fight China and would not turn away help from US.
In Revelation, (in a nutshell), Magog, a northern country (most likely Russia), will form a coalition with middle eastern nations (all named) to attack Israel. At some point, the Euphrates river will dry up which will pave the way for the "kings of the east" to move into and attack nations westward. A good bet that the 'kings of the east' being China is that a specific number, 200 million, is mentioned regarding the size of the army, ("The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.") Only China has a population large enough to amass that kind of army. It could be India but I haven't heard of any expansionist actions they've taken recently.
That said, Revelation is an insane book to try and decode and it's possible what I wrote is worthless, although, looking at current events, I'd say we're at least in the ballpark.
