I’m so sick of the feminization of our men. It’s disgusting and totally unattractive. We need our manly men! I’m tired of being brainwashed to think if I get married it means I’m weak and dependent. And God help me if I have kids? My life, career, everything is ruined. They are not just attacking the family unit, they are burying it alive.
Incredible that they think maternity = me time. Maternity leave is vital to a baby’s psychological development. Babies need their mothers. They need their fathers too and kudos to the employers that do honor paternity leave, but maternity leave is quite literally one of the furthest things from me time. Wtf
Exactly. That's called vacation time, which they already have. So they want 3 months or whatever of "me-ternity" leave because they think a 3 month vacation is somehow equal to postpartum recovery and caring for a baby the first 3 months of its life? lol
Maternity leave is not a vacation. In exchange for maternity leave, the childless women should have to use that time to help a new mom take care of her baby. I can guarantee you it's easier to go to work than to take care of a newborn 24/7 while only getting 2-3 hours of sleep per night.
Besides, it's not as if a company is giving all mothers maternity leave. Only the ones who happen to have a baby while they're employed at that particular company. And then what if the childless woman decides to have babies later on? Then she gets real maternity leave on top of her fake childless maternity leave?
Well they can fuck right off with that. I was lucky enough to be a SAHM when I had both my boys, 14 months apart. Now let's see...7 1/2 months of 24/7 morning sickness, followed by having an 8 pound 15 ounce baby. Cloth diapers, and my milspouse took a whole week off (I spent 4 days in the hospital). And I had 90% of the childcare and 100% of the housework lol. Then came pregnancy number 2. Taking care of number one while having 24/7 morning sickness for 7 1/2 months again, followed by a 9 pound 12 ounce boy, 2 days in the hospital, and my milspouse took a week off.
Oh, and Number one started walking at 7 1/2 months. Life was not very fun, all things considered. I don't think I got more than 4 hours of sleep a night until they started school. Then I ended up divorced and home schooling a few years later.
Everyone deserves vacation if they work enough, but that's not what maternity leave is.. ITS TO DEAL WITH A CRYING NEWBORN AND HEAL YOUR BLEEDING BODY!!!!
