Elijah at Carmel is a great story. Elijah vs 450 prophets of Baal. The scene in which Aragorn cut the Mouth of Sauron's head off contradicts the book (in which Aragorn would never kill a messenger, due to this being considered a gravely dishonorable act.)
It‘s about 30 years ago since I read the book, so I have to take your word about it.
But in the movie, IMO Saurons Mouth isn‘t just a messenger, it‘s an extension of Sauron himself, his deceit and evli-in-lies. Saurons Mouth never came off as a messenger to me, but an extension of Sauron.
Out of curiosity, as my memory is clouded: how was Saurons Mouth dealt with in the book?
They simply let him go after his message is over, and his fate afterward is never revealed.
