Marx himself would have hated modern "Marxists". His social and political theories that formed the basis of communism relied on the idea that people will ultimately act in the interest of the class to which they belong. He advocated for a working class (proletariat) uprising against the upper class (bourgeoisie). Today's "Marxists" are members of the bourgeoisie fighting against the proletariat.
