Fauci is living proof that failing upwards in government isn't just possible, but is the preferred method of career advancement there.

Haven't heard that one in a while.

Unfortunately, it is true more times than not that a person will rise to the level of their incompetency.

iaintgottimetobleed 53 points ago +53 / -0

In the private sector you get fired if you can't deliver, regardless of the excuses. In the Federal Government, you get awards and promotions based on the quality of your excuses for not delivering. You have to bullshit your way up, while those who get things done remain in lower positions, and are blamed for all the faults.

I regret I have only one upvote to give you for this perfect explanation of how our government rolls today.

You also rise through unquestioning loyalty and willingness to participate in corruption. If you have these qualifications you can go up even if you have Down Syndrome.

At least the old-fashioned Mafia had a merit system when it came to hiring. You had to kill to be made, but that almost seems like an honest day's work compared to these paper-shuffling water-cooler-gossiping break-taking chair-warmers.

We need the MAGA party. Fuck all these assholes

13
Theyremakingfrogsgay 13 points ago +13 / -0

That's starting to become untrue in the private sector unfortunately. If you're the correct race or gender at a fortune 500 company you won't be fired no matter how worthless you are.

3
Overkillengine 3 points ago +3 / -0

And this will only go up with increasing amounts of regulatory capture that makes corporations "too big to fail".

No, it's called "FUMU" or "Fuck Up, Move Up."

I was a contractor to the Postal Service, a quasi-government agency, for five years and I saw slackers and literal sleepers every day.

BillBarrsLastBucket 11 points ago +11 / -0

When you have a shitting worker in Government you promote them to a different department so you don't have to deal with them anymore.

Also sauce on that paper Fauci wrote please. (to OP)

3
Scroon 3 points ago +3 / -0

Corruption actively pulls incompetence to the higher ranks if they 1) follow orders 2) kiss enough ass.

Idiots with gigantic egos are especially desirable because they're easily manipulated and controlled by awards and large paychecks. After a while, they believe they are actually doing it out of their own greatness and not because they're just a convenient puppet. This will make them fight even harder if any third parties challenge their expertise.

This is funny and all but Ctrl F in the PDF for "mask"

49
RumorControl 49 points ago +50 / -1

True, but so many people contracted the bacterial pneumonia because of the constantly enclosed and moist atmosphere of every mask-wearer. Masks are micro terrariums where any passing germs which might otherwise have passed one or died on the skin are instead caught in a warm and wet pocket at the opening to the lungs.

So if there is pneumonia in the air wearing a mask is like putting a magnet on yourself and walking through a hardware store

32
JeremiahKassin 32 points ago +36 / -4

The reason doctors wear them is exactly this. They want to take the risk for themselves, and not make their patients sicker, because the patients are usually more vulnerable. But everyone wearing them just increases the risk for everyone! No one thinks for themselves anymore.

37
RumorControl 37 points ago +38 / -1

Doctors are more routinely changing masks and would tend towards a more robust immune system due to better lifestyles and being exposed to many pathogens. Masks worn by doctors wouldn’t have the extended hours of daily use that most people would have with the same mask.

16
JeremiahKassin 16 points ago +16 / -0

Masks still increase risk for all wearers, even with the additional protocols in place. The purpose has always been to reduce risks for patients. But, you're right. Those protocols do reduce the risk. I'd like to add that it's unreasonable to expect the population to follow those protocols.

10
Thehoboinyourtrash 10 points ago +10 / -0

The masks are changed constantly, and people have open wounds in a hospital so it actually makes sense.

2
JeremiahKassin 2 points ago +2 / -0

Right. That's exactly what I'm saying.

1
philandy 1 point ago +1 / -0

So I can apologize for not realizing these grandma justice warriors are walking open wounds?

subbookkeeper 14 points ago +15 / -1

Yes but the paper alone is enough. It shows that the virus wasn't the killer, it was the knock on effects of bacterial pneumonia. The 80% added crap only detracts from it.

1
Thehoboinyourtrash 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's like having a extra mouth attached to your mouth that doesn't get brushed and there's no cleaning.

It's like being so scared of athletes foot that you keep wearing the same socks long enough to get trench foot instead.

I just read the report on NIH’s website. No mention of masks or face coverings. I don’t like them either and usually don’t wear one, but this photo is fake news.

https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/bacterial-pneumonia-caused-most-deaths-1918-influenza-pandemic

6
Newspeak 6 points ago +6 / -0

You’re correct. This is recycled fake news, posted a couple months ago. The meme gets it’s info from an article that mentions the spanish flu and pneumonia from wearing masks. The article writer was the one to insinuate the masks caused the pneumonia. Not the study.

37
johndude 37 points ago +37 / -0

there's not a single mention of mask-wearing (or even "mask" or even "covering") in the whole paper

10
wizzingonwallstreet 10 points ago +10 / -0

Nor could I. It doesn't show a link. It just shows cause of death by pneumonia. You need an article that says masks cause pneumonia.

24
32
RaymondBPanelli 32 points ago +33 / -1

Did a quick word search and cannot find any instances of "mask" or "cover". You sure this is the right study?

29
Acala 29 points ago +30 / -1

Im half way through it as well and haven't found any mention of a mask or masking agent, either. OP we need confirmation on this or you need to pull this one bruh.

11
Antifajustidea 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yeah I would like to see the study that reports this as well. I’m not doubting that it is the cause but people should stop reporting Fauci said it if he didn’t. I love Alex Jones but he does this kind of stuff all the time. He reports all these things happened but never sources what he claims or he twists their words beyond recognition.

7
6
Cannot_stop_winning 6 points ago +8 / -2

7

13

I can’t find where the paper argues masks contributed to these deaths.

One thing is surprising abut antibiotics. They can help if there is " combined infection".

"If the next pandemic is caused by a human-adapted virus similar to those recognized since 1918, we believe the infection is likely to behave as it has in past pandemics, precipitating severe disease associated with prevalent colonizing bacteria."

So in this study there is nothing about masks. It's OP's own conclusion I assume. But the point (from my understanding) is that bacterial infections during Influenza are cause of major problems. Actually most deaths.

Honestly I think the eugenists are disappointed about how few deaths COVID is causing. Seems like even a bioweapon or forced lung infection are easily countered by modern medicine and most doctors who arent completely evil.

3
Poizike 3 points ago +3 / -0

Everyone go lookup Colleen Huber NMD, she's the one who exposed this. She provides factual information that masks are detrimental to the intended objective and only serve to further spread the virus.

CDC even noted this in a report in the summer that was never picked up by the media. Showed that higher usage of face masks were linked to higher rates of upper respiratory illnesses or also likelihood to get COVID-19.

Unless you are using a laundering methods that meet healthcare standards. Your reusable cotton mask is doing more harm to you. But, liberals and media will just screech at you if you trying to tell them that.

"The weight of evidence we examined from both historical and modern analyses of the 1918 influenza pandemic favors a scenario in which viral damage followed by bacterial pneumonia led to the vast majority of deaths," says co-author NIAID Director Anthony S. Fauci, M.D. "In essence, the virus landed the first blow while bacteria delivered the knockout punch." He didn’t say specifically masks, but all you need to do is put two and two together. The virus weakens your immune system while the bacteria sitting right in front of your face all day attacks.

May 29, 1918, while walking with his son Fred, Frederick Trump suddenly felt extremely sick and was rushed to bed. The next day, he was dead. What was first diagnosed as pneumonia turned out to be one of the early cases of the Spanish flu.

At his death his net holdings included a 2-story, 7-room home in Queens; 5 vacant lots; $4,000 in savings; $3,600 in stocks; and 14 mortgages. Altogether his net worth was $31,359 ($588,207.86 in 2020 dollars). His wife and son Fred continued his real estate projects under the Elizabeth Trump & Son moniker.

Reminder that vaccinations probably had something to do with that nasty business:

I’m an anti masker and haven’t worn one in months but if we are to be taken seriously we need to be fully honest in what we post here. Fauci who I trust as far as I can throw Chris Christie stated that the virus opened the door for the bacterial infections. Now, one reason I don’t wear a mask is because I like oxygen and the other is because they are bacteria farms. You don’t need a virus to open the door to a case of bacterial pneumonia or any other bacterial respiratory issue but it’s clearly what he lays out happened.

To any mask loyalists out there, go ahead wear the mask you had hanging on your rearview mirror or kept in your pocket. Maybe someone handed you a fresh one with hands they just crotch scratched with. Wear them knowing you might as well be licking a toilet cuz absent a sterile hospital like setting that mask has passengers waiting to kill ya. Oh and ours kids? yeah theirs are squeaky clean right?

True most people are too lazy to do their own research. The article doesn't say anything about mask causing the bacterial infection. Mask can be dangerous, but there was no proof the upper respiratory infections were from mask alone (I'm sure they contributed). https://academic.oup.com/jid/article/198/7/962/2192118
