My opinion of the "Doctor" Jill Biden hullabaloo is as follows:
Many are criticizing the Biden staff for ensuring that Jill is addressed as Dr. Jill Biden because she has an educational doctorate and not a medical doctorate, and I think that is the wrong angle of attack. Those who do earn doctorates in fields other than the medical profession typically have become experts in their fields after years of research. The culmination of their research is a dissertation on a particular subject in their field of interest that advances knowledge in the arena. Dissertations are heavily scrutinized by the top professors of the University to ensure that the research is novel, well thought out, and hopefully groundbreaking. If those things hold true, the student is awarded a doctorate.
Jill Biden received her doctorate at the age of 55 from the University of Delaware, as state where her husband had been senator for 30+ years. Like all Biden's, she used the Biden name to get what she wanted. Her dissertation is available online. It's not novel or groundbreaking. And it's not something worthy of an honorific.

Jill is suffering from a severe self-esteem problem. I've seen this before with people dishing out $'s to buy themselves doctorates from questionable programs. They just need to have that "Dr." title.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson comes to mind too. Guy has a PhD but claims things like "bees are experts at mathematics" and trees live side by side and interact just like humans do. Got his PhD and then has done nothing since other than tell others how they should think about things and I suspect it's simply because he's black...so....OMG so amazing!!

My friend who got her PhD is only called Dr. by other university employees. It’s like calling yourself a minister after you pay online for a universal life certificate.
Good point. On that subject I find that after this year my respect for people passing the legal bar has approached zero. When I see all the complete idiot liberals who have law degrees and licenses it makes it clear that you can be a total moron and get a law degree especially if you are not a white hetero male. Guys who have law degrees but also think Guam might capsize is not a Doctor of anything and has no prudence of any kind.
