I have model 3 and I’ll never go back to gas. You don’t buy it for environmentalism, you buy it because it’s just superior in every way. I recommend you go for a free test drive at your nearest Tesla center.

A few key points you are missing. Even if the electricity for the batteries comes from coal power plants the electric motor is far far more efficient than the gas engine. So still much better environmentally. Also the batteries are upwards of 95% recyclable. Finally most the waste when creating the batteries is in supply chain and manufacturing inefficiencies which Tesla is fixing through vertical integration on a massive scale. I'm Def not some eco freak but I just point out misinformation when I see it. My next car will 100% be a Tesla but as someone said above it will simply be because they are a better car in every way.

I read somewhere that it takes more electricity to build a wind turbine than said turbine will produce in its lifetime.
