It was the first big snowfall after he got into office. I was comfy at home with local TV on in the background. And he kept breaking into the programming to show us all how he was shoveling snow (yeah right lol) and demanding we all go do it too. And I thought, "Bitch why aren't you having someone who needs a job shoveling? Don't you have some Mayor shit to do? WTF even are we paying you for?"
Yup I’m in NY and the news kept on non stop talking about how bad the snow was gonna be they even stopped talking about covid everyone believed the news I kept telling them it’s fake news now everyone believes me cuz we got 3 inches lol
Even the weather is fake news. I was told the apocalypse was coming.
What happened in reality was an entirely normal snowy night of the kind you expect maybe 5-10 of in any average winter.
I sat by the window with a mug of cocoa watching the flakes fall, happy we were getting a white Christmas this year. It was magical.
And then I drove to work the next morning on well-cleared roads as a few flurries still came down, my life not impeded in the slightest save for the extra 5 minutes I allotted to drive a little slower in case roads were slippery.
That is literally the entire extent of what happened due to a "winter storm" the media had been panicking about all week.

yep they said we would get 12-18 where I am, if we have 8 at the deepest part that's a lot
Said we would get 8-11 inches. Got at least twice that, although forecasters were right about the time frame for the snow, even 2-3 days out.
Meanwhile, in my area, we were expecting a foot at most, but we ended up with 18 inches.
