No the left wont rush out the hit squads and gun round up squads right away, but once they have the levers of power back, they can slow walk it while they get rich first, they won't rush it, but they will get there someday, this isn't the first time they have done this, they know what they are doing.

As an ordinary citizen in a corrupt government having a firearm is a big deal. As an American I abide by the constitution and the 2A. This is the reason why this amendment was created. Hopefully it won’t reach that point but it’s all we have right now. You can panic and doom all day still won’t make a difference. All you can do is pray trump has a plan and is willing to use all means necessary to ensure that commies won’t be controlling the White House.
I do hope that what you describe as a last stand for your gun rights does not become the norm.
Ideally, before it comes to that, we seriously need to start reforming the local militias and gun rights groups. People that can respond to any attempts at gun confiscation attempts.
And by respond, I mean showing up in numbers, armed and willing, to stop any such activities cold. Make any local police who "are just following orders" pause and decide to just go home and not push it.
The only way this is going to be stopped is if we all, at the local level get organized and active, show up to defend each other and our communities.
That is why the left has been successful with their goals, they stick together, they show up, they are active and they respond, with violence if needed to achieve their goals,
We have to respond in kind, even exceed them, make them understand they will not succeed with their plans without it costing them.
You know, the problem probably isn't that they don't have enough food. It's that this is the only way to get it, so it reinforces the idea that the government is in control because you're being told to waiting and you do it.
It's the same reason that clubs force lines outside their door even when there's room inside. When people wait for you, you're exclusive and desirable, i.e. you call the shots.
Venezuela decided to substantially raise their taxes on American oil companies, forcing them to leave and thus taking away much of their oil revenue.
Our sanctions haven't impacted them, let's be honest. China and Russia should be able to sustain Venezuela perfectly fine, but it seems that China is unable to produce toilet paper and export it. Or maybe there's more to it...
