I believe a modern civil war would devolve into 2 scenarios, maybe a combination of both
A massive storming of the capital to enforce demands, forcefully drain swamp etc., this could end badly if the military surrounds DC and turns it into a big Waco.
A large scale asymmetrical campaign, sabotaging urban infrastructure and such
