We know from repeated instances in world history that when society’s institutions are no longer trusted by the people and degeneracy forms, a strongman rises up and, instead of attempting to conserve through political intrigue and legislative action (cowardice), crushes all opposition with overwhelming force. This strongman is almost always of authoritarian conservative bent. I would prefer we had small intransigent violence now, as opposed to what we will see in 10-20 years. And, unbeknownst to them, our opponent (and the Supreme Court) would prefer it, too.
Agreed. They do not want to see the monster that will come up if Trump is removed. I do not like that image either. Unless of course the CCP manages to cripple us completely.
I don’t know why people think Trump is a strongman when all evidence aus otherwise. For one, he doesn’t want to be targeting by a massive team of lawyers when he leaves office and 2. He is still concerned with the “Trump” brand and doesn’t want to do anything so radical that it takes down his family’s empire.
