I have said that since before the election. It's not a big deal. Similar to the frequency of a government shutdown. Happened god knows how many times but everytime it does media sets their clothes on fire runs around in circles with arms flailing...meh.

Martial law is nothing but the re-establishment of law and order. I've been involved in it twice. LA Riots and then Katrina. Once the rule of law is re-established then we can go back to the regularly scheduled program.

Yup. It substitutes the military legal system for the civilian legal system for the duration. Generally used whenever shit gets real and civilians can't handle it... like now for example. Just waiting (more or less) patiently for it to happen again. Once it does, then we can finally start making some real progress thinning the herd of swamp creatures.

I can find collaboration of 23 times the insurrection act as been invoked.

However, I am currently only able to find roughly 20ish times martial law has been declared. Does anyone have a link to a list of martial law instances?

In fact Trump will not have to declare nationwide martial law. Only in the areas of operation and unrest.

We have already had two civil wars as well. Doesn't mean a third civil war is a good thing.

Jefferson thought we'd need a war every few generations to keep the republic honest.

Off the top of my head

Confederacy

Shay's Rebellion

Whiskey Rebellion

Bleeding Kansas

Arguably some of the indian wars.

I can think a few more small scale ones or ones that had no deaths.

Which are your two?

Just the two big ones where >1,000 soldiers died.
