I'm not allowed to see my nephew my sister just stopped talking to me. Told my parents to tell me it's because covid. Now my mom tries to make me feel bad by sending me a video of him in a pre school play singing a Christmas song without a mask around 10 other kids.

My sister didn't send me anything. Even when I was visiting the beach in CA 5 miles from her house we stayed 3 nights and 4 days she avoided me the entire time.

When my first child comes this May I'm not even going to tell them.

Don't listen to the other person who replied. I don't blame you for not telling them. Family that treats you like human garbage can hardly be called family. Now if it was a simple disagreement? Yeah sure family is family. But cutting you off from your nephew over politics??? In the end do what you feel like you have to do pede.

The funny thing is that I'm not proposing doing something radical or unheard of in this situation. It would just be equal treatment. They're not doing anything illegal. Sure I call it very immoral and I'll even say it's a disgrace. But I'm not the bad guy here. I'm the victim. My 3 year old nephew (who looks more like me and sister than his dad) is also a victim. because I know he misses me and asks about me. I wonder if my sister said "I told them not to come near you because they'll give you GERMS!" because thats pretty much the truth. He's such a cute kid and I really feel bad for the awful future ahead.

Fucking disgraceful. I would disown her. That's not a sister I would like to have. Mine isn't batshit crazy and brings over my niece and nephew every week to play without stupid face diapers. Doesn't give a fuck about chinese virus.

If she was like this I would avoid her as well as much as I love my nephew and niece.

Thanks. It's hard and it sucks. But that's the new reality were stuck in. This is us paying the price for her not getting "her turn".

By shutting them out and not telling your family, that makes you no better a person. They're still your family. Perhaps your child is an opportunity to bring the family back together.

That's doormat thinking. If they cared even an iota about family they wouldn't be doing what they are doing.
