I think he used the "too powerful" excuse with Mueller as well. Rand's being consistent. He's got a point but imho there is precident that if the former administration believes that the upcoming administration might be compromised, then a special council should be appointed.

Everything isn't a spy game. Rand Paul does not like to give the government power, period. Special prosecutors are bullshit and are granted powers that violate constitutional protections. it is that simple.

It is a war we're in. There is no such thing as "too powerful" in my book as far as exposing the corrupt Biden family.

While I disagree with Rand Paul on this one, his objection doesn’t seem to be about Crackhead Hunter as much as it is the excessive power that special prosecutors have. That said, there absolutely needs to be an investigation into the whole Biden family.

I'm sorry, this article is a mess. Paul's comments are chopped up, and it's not clear he is against it. Or whether he's referring to Trump or Biden or whatever.
