Insurrection act sounds so cool when described, but it will change this nation in major ways, and not all of them good. Trump is doing the right thing in my opinion and letting the game play out. The longer he holds off on calling it, the more clear a vision he will have, of who is true enemies are when he does call it.
All options need to be tried before we get to that. All of them. All court cases need to reach their final determination and all that stuff.
The Insurrection Act would absolutely ruin our economy within an hour. You'd see stocks freefall. It'd wipe out years of economic growth and cause mass panic in the streets. You'd see businesses close up overnight and stop selling stuff. That means food, medicine, all sorts of stuff. You'd see people freaking out.
The last time the Insurrection Act was invoked was 1992 during the LA Riots. The last time a FEDERAL Insurrection Act was invoked was during the civil war. Governors can declare it as well. It's not just a Federal thing.
Before we pull the lever on that, we need to MAKE SURE it's the last and real option. I'd rather not go through with that if it can be at all avoided. It disrupts trade, foreign relations, and it makes the US look weak as we're fighting amongst ourselves.Prime target for an offensive strike. Be it troops, or missile strike.
Insurrection Act isn't something you want. It's not something we want. It's not something Trump wants. It should be a last resort only.
