Funny enough, people claimed "new coke" actually tested better when it was done under a blind taste test as long as tasters didn't know they were tasting coke but some other named beverage that was up for testing. The problem comes in with human nature and people actively rejecting major change. People bought the new formulation expecting the old coke with a slight taste difference (i.e. oreo's when they swapped from lard to the new filling) and what they got was too different for them. When they didn't have that expectation nearly everyone actually liked the new version better. All coke had to do was introduce the new version under a different name while still producing the old formula.

Coke could have had a great hit on their hands if they marketed it differently. Just like the globalists their shortsightedness and inability to see how you cannot go against human nature screwed them over.

I was test marketed it before it came out when i was at Univ of Wisconsin in 1983. I told them I didn't like it, I missed the "Acid taste and the SMELL". Original coke was the only soda I could REALLY recognize by the smell of it. You can still get it but only in countries who use Sugar. Even Mexican product uses High Fructose Corn Syrup now. Asian countries like Singapore, Taiwan still have the original stuff and it's great.

You’re wrong about Mexico. At least the stuff that gets sent to the US is real sugar.
