I was in the army with a guy that got kicked out because he got caught doing crack (he threw up black sludge during a morning run, which is a dead give away if you're familiar with what that usually means). He got UCMJ'd and kicked out after having his rank stripped and his pay docked. A year later after he got booted I discovered that he had finished his cop training courses and was now officially a police officer. It was honestly mind blowing for me, and really opened my eyes on how thoughtless support of the police probably isn't a great idea. Some of them a great people to be sure, but then some of them are former druggie's that couldn't muster up the simple discipline to not do drugs while serving in the armed forces.
