Nothing should be more Irrelevant than the public’s reaction to the Supremes interpretation of the founders intent.
You wouldn't have civil rights otherwise.
What I would like is for the Supreme Court to only consider the founders intent in regard to constitutional law interpretation without including culture and feelings into the discussion. The Supremes should not even consider the effects of a ruling, just rule based on the constitution. Let the chips fall where they fall.

What if riots start happening because they refused to hear the case? See......if there are riots if they hear the case, and riots if they don’t hear the case, well, then the riots are irrelevant and all that’s left to base the decision on is whether or not the legal challenge is justified.
But, there is only one side that riots (the left). And the courts seem to only fear that one side (the left).
They believe that ultimately the right will roll over, get over their anger and move on. So in their mind, that’s the safer bet. Ignore the tolerant right, pander to the explosive left and everything will go back to “normal”.
