The Bible tells us exactly how people will behave and what events will take place in the last days, and boy is it spot on.
You may have rejected all of the amazing Bible prophecies that have been fulfilled in the past - but what will you do when you are presented with their fulfillment in your life? If you are presented with a mark to be put your forehead or right hand that gives you permission to buy and sell - remember that it was foretold, and do not take that mark because it signifies your worship of the beast, and you will perish.
Great violence is coming. It is coming in the form of natural disasters, diseases, famines, and war.
Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life, and He is the only way to escape what is coming on the Earth.
Accept the sacrifice that Christ made. With your mouth, declare that He is the Lord and Saviour. Repent of your sins, and He will forgive you, and you will be saved.

I agree with the problems and I'm no eschatologist, but I don't automatically agree with the interpretation of the end times as posed by most modern Christians. The concept of the antichrist was used often as a propaganda tool against the pope (I'm okay with that, the pope is an illigetimate post anyways). Also, I feel that these beliefs about the end times have in the past been used to persecute Jews and are now used for Zionist indoctrination.
I'm more of a preterist and there are a lot of people never exposed to this idea and that's a shame because the lack of exposure has created an echo chamber in Christian theology regarding the "end times".

I would have to say that the best rebuttal of Preterism is that after the 70th week of the Daniel prophecy (The Great Tribulation) is the promise that Jesus would return and establish His 1000 year reign here on Earth with Him as the head - then the final judgement. Without going too deep into it, the last week of the Daniel prophecy was put on hold just as the Jews entrance to the promised land was put on hold because of their unbelief and because of God's mercy. 2520 - the magic number - may be the key to understanding when the last week starts. I totally agree, based on what you have said I would say I'm probably not confident enough to say I'm a full preterist and probably more historicist. I've never heard that term (it's amazing how many have never heard of preterism but I guess futurism is so dominant that I myself have missed historicism), so I've got some reading to do

You know I used to laugh at overly religious people calling the a president of the US the antichrist... Etc... My objection was always "The United States is not the entire world. Even if X happens in America, it doesn't fulfill the prophecies of the Antichrist"
Well now we've passed that. I've been thinking about this topic a lot. It's a WORLD WIDE thing now. If they institute something to where you have to have a brand, tattoo, ID, whatever to prove you were vaccinated to participate in society then that fulfills the prophecy.

Both 1 John and 2 John talk about there being many antichrists. Satan does not know the end time (only God does) so he has raised up many antichrists throughout the generations.
I am also a firm believer that the second coming of Jesus for His church will be pre-tribulation, yet we know troubling times precede it. The Holy Spirit holds back the man of lawlessness until He (the Holy Spirit) taken away. The Holy Spirit also leads, guides, teaches, and refines believers. What a gift from the Lord!

I will warn you guys though it is written we will not know the exact time it will happen and I suspect that was written in so we also don’t give up and try to rush the lord. However I have always thought if God was ready to issue in the end times, why would He give us mercy with Trump at all, a very prolife and pro-religious freedom president, instead of letting evil have its way? The other day I was awaiting the train on the commute home from work. The trains and stations are empty these days, like I'm in a zombie movie. The only people around and the occassional hobo asking for money, but even they are scarce. This time there was an older-than-I woman there, and she walked over and asked if she could pray for me. I said yes, she did so, and I said thank you and amen. Then we walked to opposite sides of the station. Then she came back to my side to ask me a question and told me that China is the Leviathan from the Bible and that we are indeed in the end times. She told me to stockpile water and food and to learn to garden... I already do all of those things, as I am but a humble chicken farmer when im not at work, but I nodded and let her speak. She said all of these things. And I said "I believe you and I know." And then we parted ways. It was an eerie experience, but it seemed fitting against the backdrop of the COVID ghost town.

I have tried to read Revelation a number of times but it makes no sense talking about dragons and crowns and all this other jazz. I would have lived if they wrote down actual words that normal people could understand.
I think if we don't understand something from the Bible at a particular time, then we aren't meant to then. I learn something new almost every time I read in the Bible - and almost every time I am astonished that I didn't see it the previous times. It's really weird.
Really great answer, OP. The Bible is dynamic and living. The same passages can mean different things to you at different stages of your life.

Bingo. John was told to write what he saw. He describes what he saw; there's very little metaphor, just a man, doing his best to describe the indescribable. The few times he does use metaphor, he tells you that he is: the heads are mountains, the horns; kings.

I feel so strongly that we need to rise up and loudly proclaim our faith. We have been taught to keep silent so we don't "offend" others. Please, let us find our courage and conviction. It will mark us out and may make our life on earth very difficult. Who will face the martyrs in Heaven, having been a coward?

I have always wondered why you get a mark in your right hand OR your forehead. Is it two different classes of people. One receiving the mark on their right hand and the other group receiving the mark on their forehead?

It's not a physical mark. Gods people are marked too. The hand is your actions and forehead your thoughts. It's basically you taking part in the system to save yourself in this life. Example being the system forcing you to do something against Gods will.

Predestination may have some validity and can find support in several verses of the Bible, no doubt. However, many other verses tend to lead toward the free will of man to accept or reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and come to salvation. One point plagues the believer in predestination and that is how does one know who are the tares and who are the wheat while in this life? Therefore we have no choice but to respond to Paul's promise that "Whoever calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13) And walk in Jesus greatest commandment to "Love one another as I have loved you." My question to you is what has convinced you that you are a tare and have no part in the Kingdom of Heaven? I know for a fact that God is "longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." Certainly the devil loves to lie, bringing hopelessness and despair to each of us and what better way to do so but to convince us that we are beyond the reach of the saving blood of Jesus.

One word of caution along those lines.... Predestination can lead one into a sense of completion... knowing that Jesus paid it all on the cross as He stated at the finale.... It is finished! It was finished, in a sense... The penalty for our crimes was paid in full!!
Yet we are not finished because we have still been called to go and make disciples of all the nations... and we must first be disciples in order to do that!
To me discipleship is summed up in one scripture of Paul's.. Phillipians 2:12- "work out your own salvation in fear and trembling knowing it is God working in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure" So God promises that He will work in us as we work it out... it is a two way street here! That way we can bear much fruit and be well pleasing in the sight of the Father! Hallelujah brother... glory to God!

Very true. Religion puts God in a box. Religion tries to bring God down to our level. All He asks for is trust and He will bring us up to His level. Abraham's righteousness was attributed to him because he trusted God. King David described as a man after Gods own heart. Because he eventually listened and learned to trust God.
Accepting and professing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the only requirement. We should absolutely repent of our sins and love a good life (great following the 10 commandments) but make no mistake....we are saved through His grace and grace alone.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except by me" and he said "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture" He also said "Before Abraham; I am"
I believe Him because of His life, the testimony of many witnesses, and His fulfillment of dozens of specific and amazing prophecies, and because He was sacrificed.
