I have a close family member and know countless others (patients who I care for as well) whose lives have been destroyed by this drug. In the last month I've stopped two people I know from taking it for very minor infections and stopped another provider from routinely prescribing it. According to the black box warning, it should only be used when no other antibiotic will work due to the risk of debilitating and irreversible damage to the tendons, muscles, and central and peripheral nervous system. Do you know how many people scoff at it and say its "very rare" or nothing but a ruptured tendon?
It is a mitochondial poison. Mitochondria are the power house of your cells and their dysfunction has been implicated as one of the causes of disease in aging. Now, how about poison them with floride and create a multisystem dysfunction?
And also consider that veterans of Desert Storm were given fluoroquinolones and then look at the symptoms of being floxed and the symptoms of desert storm syndrome....
