Unless he just takes over as a dictator and sticks around, when he leaves office, there could be a very real chance that something terrible could happen to him and potentially his family.

Doubt it, if there was no uprising after they blatantly stole an election, there won't be if they throw Trump in jail on some trumped up charges.
