I’m a med school dropout (hated every second of my 3 years). Went to a top med school too. Wearing masks after getting a vaccine or having covid makes zero sense to me. Also, wtf is the point of masks? To be blunt 95% of the population doesn’t even put them on right so they do squat to begin with. Also, the masks 99.9% of people use don’t block the damn virus. Sure it suppress the spread of your breath/cough, but if you’re in a room with someone with covid for a few minutes it makes no difference and you will be exposed regardless if you’re both wearing a mask. If you’re walking by someone then yes, it will cut the chances of you getting exposed by probably ~2/3.
It’s frankly idiotic to try and control this thing. Pandemics are a force of nature as much as a hurricane, tsunami, earthquake, or volcanic eruption is. Believing you can stop or control mother nature is foolish and arrogant. I’ve been saying this since late January when we only had a few cases. Not that that’s the real reason we have all these lockdowns.... We couldn’t control this thing when we had a few dozen cases in the US, but stay under lockdown folks, we’ll surely be able to control it now when we have thousands of new cases a day. Give me a fucking break.
