News flash, whether you call them commissions or kickbacks or really expensive trips to conferences, there's money involved.

AMA rates docs NOT by cure rate but by how closely they adhere to the pill pushing guidelines published. Symptom A, pill B; symptoms C+D, pill E, etc.

Docs get piles of articles thrown at them to read to keep up with requirements, too many to actually read and see all the patients they must to make a living, so they rely on headline summaries. Many honestly believe newer is better, patients are rubes, they are elite, etc, and the younger the worse they get. Sex and drugs were part of their lives for years before they joined a practice.

Sources: lots and lots of decent and indecent docs in the circle. Almost became one before college med students disabused me of the notion.

You must travel in some shit circles, dude. Half my family members are doctors, I do legal work for a huge chunk of the medical industry. You're talking out your ass about an insanely small group of corrupt people. Fact is that becoming a doctor to grift is among the dumbest cons you can try. Medical school is long and expensive, and regulation is stricter than any other postgraduate industry. That's why you get double-digits worth of trash out of hundreds of thousands in the country. The uncountably vast majority of doctors do it because they're good people that want to help others.

Next time you want to disparage a group because you know a few bad apples, maybe consider that only you and your friends are the garbage people, not that everyone else must be as well.
