That’s extremely irresponsible of doctors to keep you on Xanax for 20 years. It’s supposed to be prescribed for a few weeks max. I would try to find a psych, explain your problem to them, they can get you on a low maintenance dose of a long acting benzo to help restore your mental health and gradually taper you off
