Also I am a first time expecting father in Feb with a less-than based wife (for now until she sees the light) that I WILL protect at ALL costs. Pops and I are preparing for EVERYTHING/ANYTHING. What is the word on this generator? Any other pedes working on/have solar? Is this the way to go? Any other recommendations?
Also, we have local walkies and 17 mi range walkies... hoping to capture feedback on communication incase SHTF. What is the com signal?

Welcome!! In my opinion solar is definitely the way to go. I would also recommend getting your ham license, or at least a ham radio.

Sorry, no experience with them. I have a couple of the Renogy 100w flexible panels and a couple deep cell marine batteries. Not much but it'll get the job done.
