Lord we come to you with heavy, grateful hearts. We come to you needing more mercy, wisdom, guidance and courage than ever. Mercy for our imperfections, weaknesses, and oversights. Wisdom to avoid foolishness that leads to bloodshed and dissention. Wisdom to know when to act. Guidance to see us through the darkness that is surrounding us. Above all courage, we ask you for courage Lord, our warriors and our meek alike. We are not an army Lord as you know. We are farmers and teachers, businessman and students, mothers and fathers, and sons and daughters. Give us the courage to fight for your will and not our own. Many of our hearts are overwhelmed with fear. Lord strengthen our hearts and minds. Lastly, if it is your will Lord, we ask you to calm our nerve and steady our rifles. Send your angels to protect our brothers if they may find themselves in battle. May our hearts be true along with our aim. May our victory over the wickedness of our enemies be swift, resounding and complete. Thank You Lord for all the blessings given to us. There are many. You have given us much to fight for.

Amen

I am probably pretty unique as I could have been the one itching for a fight had God not humbled me tremendously in the last few years. I used to be a bodybuilder and was incredibly strong for my short stature (5'8"). But I've had type 1 diabetes most of my life. Unfortunately in 2017 I was diagnosed with renal (kidney) failure. Now I do nightly dialysis and am forbidden from ever lifting more than 20 lbs. Almost all of my previous muscle mass has atrophied and I am now just a weak, frail man.

But it has forced me to rely on and put all of my hope and trust in Jesus. I still retain most of my fearlessness from when I was strong, but it's because I trust in the LORD now. God has given me incredible wisdom and discernment to replace my previous strength, and I feel like I am honestly a lot more useful to those I am around than I ever was. Thanks for your honesty and your prayer! God bless!

I heard a lecture once mentioning that during our journey with God He requires we sacrifice any obstacles to the journey. Maybe you left your strength in flesh on His altar? Take care brother and praise our Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit!
