Nice. If you live in an area where you can get Whaler's rum, try that. Wow is it a huge bang-for-buck WIN! Cheap and smooooooth. Many varieties. My favorites are the "Killer Coconut" version (killer whale/Orca on the label) and the dark version, which is so pitch black I thought it came in a totally opaque jet black glass bottle.... not looking at a web photo, but with the bottle IN MY HANDS, eyeballing it directly and closely, but no, amazingly it's actually a CLEAR glass bottle, filled completely with totally black rum. Very cool and a bit freaky, it's a very convincing illusion (unless they changed the bottle since I last got one, anyway).
If you can't find the Whaler's dark, Myers's (yes that's the spelling which is a bit odd) makes good dark rum too. Dark rums are often an acquired taste, but give it a shot.
