I just talked with my Ukraine-Russian colleague, who admired that I can handle all the work I am currently doing (in software development), basically being a moderately experienced beginner 2.5 years ago, and now pioneering a project in which I have to figure out and solve 95% of all challenges on my own, and where I communicate with various other developers who implement my libraries or have to port it into their languages. On the recent meeting with 8 people I was the one who had to start, and had 40 minutes screen time of the 70 minutes in total. And I was just reiterating the most recent stuff! It was kind of a "let's share our work" session. The next guy was done in 5 minutes.
And I am paid quite badly even for German standards (yet). Oh and I have no finished higher education btw, but I figured it's redundant and proven correct.
So I talked with him about everything that is going on with Covid and the US elections - he asked for my opinions - so I gave him a thorough assessment. While he is aware of the dangers of Communism, and seemingly well read about it, he may now think that I am a nut job.
A nut job who personally looked into the total death rates in Germany to confirm every authoritarian measure we are having is pointless, and how causality of everything related to Covid statistics is messed up by factors of 10 to 500. A nut job who used official data to estimate the real death rate (0.01%) that can be attributed to Covid. A nut job who dares to say masks were deemed useless by various scientists up until 2020, in which nothing has changed except that superstars like Fauci and various already authoritarian governments just reasoned their "experts" supported mandates with childish depictions that are meant to be taken seriously.
There are various studies that prove that people will comply to the mere appearance of authority and may go so far as to kill people if they are told to do so. It's basically about caving in to social pressure. Covid, possibly the most extensive study of all, has proven this again to be true.
I’ve found Eastern Europeans/Russians to be reasonably intelligent for the most part but there is something off about their mindset. Not really motivated unless there is an angle. Maybe shortcut is a better word, ie a bribe. They can do the work, just won’t. Feel like then have to be given opportunity no matter how hard they work unless they are a gangster. I think china recently was afraid of food shortage. They were basically putting some new rules to report each other if you waste food then you get a fine. Also had some sanitiation machine to sanitize your old food and resale... communism at its finest.
