People are typically only driven to violence when they feel existentially threatened. Communists are experts on human psychology and realize this, and have developed much more subversive methods that dont trigger the fight response.
That said, the 2A is more important now than ever, because at some point they will have to make "the move". I dont know when it will be or what it will look like, but we damn well better still be armed.
