He is mentally handicapped, everything is America sucks and socialism is the way, but couldn’t bother to figure out we can’t afford it.

Dunning-Kruger effect. I used to study Chomsky’s work decades ago. It’s good, but his expertise, like many "super-intellectuals," is VERY narrow. He fell into the preening Obama circle and has been in an ever-decreasing cognitive cycle since. He surrounds himself with sycophants and adoring press.

A former neighbour of mine was a chemistry professor and PhD. Very bright guy in a very narrow niche of his field but he was constantly arriving home after work and leaving car doors, trunk open as he absent-mindedly went inside. I'd leave for work early the next morning and see his interior light faintly glowing and know that he was going to need a boost again. I think genius in some area needs to draw assets away from others.
