Who needs fakebook when you can just tell it to their faces, directly. It is rather comical in my workplace, where I am the sole conservative. Everybody there knows it, because I tell them.
You would laugh to see the liberals sidle into my office under false pretenses, ostensibly asking me about the latest IT project when in fact they want to hear for themselves what an actual real-life conservative might say. I am probably the only one they have ever spoken to. Not that they would ever actually listen, but who cares. I do not understand the subterfuge -- if you want to hear what I think, just ask straight up and I will tell you.

No, other people get work done also. Some more than others. For that matter, I myself could be doing some work right now instead of posting here, but I do my job.
I am the "IT guy" though, and I guess they feel it is easier to keep me than replace me.
But I will never understand the subterfuge. Not that I am interested in their political opinions -- they all think the same things anyways -- but if I ever want their opinions on anything else, I just ask them. I would never bother with constructing an elaborate false conversation, the only purpose of which is to slowly ease in to whatever it is I really want to discuss.

I was once questions (with some hostility) when I went for an interview at a bank when they couldn't find any social media data on me.
Considering I'm a network and security designer I pointed out to the dingbat interviewer that publicly posting information that would make me (and their precious data) a target would be a very stupid thing to do, and that if they interviewed anyone that they could find such information about that should be a massive red flag.
The guy was totally astonished. The people don't think - and then they try to second guess people who they are hiring who do think - ridiculous.
I'd hire him. I'm tired of these antiamerican, antimale, antiwhite, anti-capitalist, antipoor, antisanity, antichristian hipster loser degenerates that think someone ELSE must be the bigot.
No joke - I don't have a Facebook account. I had a Twatter account, but I never tweeted and I eventually deleted it anyway. I'm fairly sure the ancient MySpace account I did dork with back in 2005 might still exist, but fuck if I could recall the user/pass combo for it.

Sadly already in the tech industry they are dismissing straight white males. I've had several amazing peers who are older white men get turned down several times for a job they are over qualified for only to see a "diverse" candidate get hired with less experience. And they already use your social media against you (not if you're some partying sleezebag but if you disagree with their group think)...
