the grandparents know whats up. Time on this earth is too short to be wasted in school.

Most of the time kids living with grandparents are there because mom and or dad are too fucked up to raise them. Lots of fetal alcohol syndrome and drug positive births in this group.

Like they say, “If you raise your children you can spoil your grandchildren. If you spoil your children you have to raise your grandchildren”

I'm thinking this is most common among African Americans.

Grandparents shouldn't be raising children. They don't have the energy for it.

Grandparents should be the subversive influence that the parents have to fight in order to keep their children from becoming Mad Max.

When Grandparents have to do the parenting, that subversive influence from decades of life experience disappears and you are left with nothing more than extremely tired parents that can't keep up with their children in any forum.

Grandparents are essential, but they are not parents, they can't be, and they shouldn't be.

I am thinking those families have some form of trauma or addiction issues such that parents cannot raise their own kids; everyone spend the energy dealing with the problems caused by the ADULTS instead of nurturing the (grand) children. Very sad.
