I am a veteran, with a diverse career I'll say that, and at every level I can promise everyone that mission does indeed come first. The government will help you to an extent with personal issues but they certainly do expect you to give 100% to the mission.
I try to do my small part by donating to charities that send care packages to troops. The one I use lets you send one, depending on the amount, to a troop, a squad, a battalion, etc. They include coffee, cookies, toiletries, socks I think...
I don't want anything in return but I occasionally get letters from the troops and I love reading them.
One year there was a charity sending air conditioners to overseas troops. I was like "TAKE MY MONEY!!!" I need to find them again.
They are very grateful for anything they receive. Sometimes it feels like you're out of sight out mind, in a sense, on deployment even with your own parent command or family. So we're very appreciative of anything we get. Thank you for doing that

Both the meetings I was supposed to have with government were canceled this week because of the solarwinds hack. It's more serious than most people realize.
Canceling these meetings could be because of the hack, or it could be because they believe Biden is compromised (and/or going to lose). Most government people are extremely lazy year round, and do hardly anything during December, but the (few) important people who do all the work don't stop critical work for holidays.
One thing which makes me lean toward it potentially being related to the election is that all the meetings were canceled. If it were due to the hack I'd expect many of them to be canceled/delayed, but the important ones should continue. It also wouldn't be a "shock" to people aware of how serious it is, and cutting them out entirely during such a big event seems odd.

I am a veteran, with a diverse career I'll say that, and at every level I can promise everyone that mission does indeed come first. The government will help you to an extent with personal issues but they certainly do expect you to give 100% to the mission.
I try to do my small part by donating to charities that send care packages to troops. The one I use lets you send one, depending on the amount, to a troop, a squad, a battalion, etc. They include coffee, cookies, toiletries, socks I think...
I don't want anything in return but I occasionally get letters from the troops and I love reading them.
One year there was a charity sending air conditioners to overseas troops. I was like "TAKE MY MONEY!!!" I need to find them again.
They are very grateful for anything they receive. Sometimes it feels like you're out of sight out mind, in a sense, on deployment even with your own parent command or family. So we're very appreciative of anything we get. Thank you for doing that

Both the meetings I was supposed to have with government were canceled this week because of the solarwinds hack. It's more serious than most people realize.
Canceling these meetings could be because of the hack, or it could be because they believe Biden is compromised (and/or going to lose). Most government people are extremely lazy year round, and do hardly anything during December, but the (few) important people who do all the work don't stop critical work for holidays.
One thing which makes me lean toward it potentially being related to the election is that all the meetings were canceled. If it were due to the hack I'd expect many of them to be canceled/delayed, but the important ones should continue. It also wouldn't be a "shock" to people aware of how serious it is, and cutting them out entirely during such a big event seems odd.
