I didn't make it. They were in Care Packages sent in for Morale Support by nice Women's Organizations. They had glitter glue for tinsel, and shiny little multi colored metallic beads for ornaments. Even a little Silver Star on top. I think they were made by young children in the Midwest, or the South in school projects. We were Thankful. ARTS AND CRAFTS TIME KIDDIES!! :)
When you're surrounded by Hajis in the Middle of Winter, a taste of home is a taste of home.
I spent my fair share of Sunday mornings helping the kindergarteners in Sunday school glue beads on pinecones. ( And lots of cards and notes and red white and blue crafts) I'm crying right now because I never knew that what we were doing ever really reached someone who needed it. Bless you. And thank you.
It was all appreciated. The homemade crafts, the packages of Koo-Aid or flavored drink mix for water bottles, gum , candy, toiletries, Bibles (even though I already have one), those things you wet and put around your neck to keep cool that were filled with some sort of crystals.
Thank you to anyone who thought of us and was any part of the process and effort to get us a taste of home or a little something to make the day better.
Jesus, are you using pinheads for glass balls?
