When the Pussygate tape dropped, Rince Priebus told Trump that he should drop out so they could run a different candidate or else Trump would lose by the biggest margin in modern history. Trump basically told Priebus "if I go down, I'm taking the Republican party with me". That caused the Republicans to quickly get back in line behind Trump.

I don't think Trump is the leader we're expecting...as in leading us into battle against the nation's true enemies. He did bring to light what was previously dismissed as conspiracy theories. Maybe that was his aim all along but now it's up to the American people to take back what is rightfully theirs. His biggest bargaining chip is he knows all that they want to hide and is using it to ensure safe passage for him and his family. That's why I don't think he will take this to the next level and instead will let the clock run out.
