Theology is a top/down approach to knowledge. You’re looking for “proof”, that’s bottom up. That’s what I meant about sitting on the sidelines. There’s no possibility of being converted without taking a leap of faith. You can limit your assumptions, though. Keep them simple.
Any type of bottom/up approach to knowledge (eg foundationalism starting from necessary assumptions, gathering evidence, data IOW scientific method) will yield nonsense to the question of God. It’s literally “impossible” to prove a metaphysic with data. It’s the very difference between science and philosophy. The only way for a conversion is through faith. Faith is the foundation of metaphysical belief. If you’re a skeptic, you’re sitting this one out.
