Every country on the planet does, it's rediculous that these are even contentious positions.

Try becoming a Canadian citizen. You need French and English fluency.

Here, we’re giving citizenship tests in the persons native tongue.

Can’t even count how many middle eastern women I’ve seen come to America to have a baby and take home a US ‘citizen’ when they spend 7-10 days in this country. That practice has slowed down over the past couple years in this area, but maybe because the Muslim OB doctor retired and their pipeline dried up

Both parents must be American citizens for 10 years or more.

The mom as a citizen should have her children be afforded the same status, in my opinion.

Removal of "Jus Soli" or law of the "Born in and Subject to Laws of the US" Retention of "Jus Sanguini" or law of Blood "Derived Citizenship from US Citizen Parents or Parent"...must have residency requirements. Both currently are law of the land but Soli is the problem.

On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God, 2 for they did not meet the people of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them—yet our God turned the curse into a blessing. 3 As soon as the people heard the law, they separated from Israel all those of foreign descent.

I wasn't born in America myself and I agree that our immigration laws are too generous, almost pathetic. They are upside down. They make it easy for the immigrants who don't deserve or even hate America and extremely difficult sometimes for highly qualified people who appreciates and love our country. Those stupid laws create all sort of problems, like people coming here to give birth only to give citizenship to the child, and have us taxpayers pay for the prenatal and birth expenses. Russians and many other countries have an official industry to do those things. I think at least one parent should be an American citizen to give citizenship for a child. Also, I believe that citizenship is given too, too ridiculously easy to most immigrants, specially refugees. We shouldn't take too many legal immigrants per year either. I think a legal immigrant in order to become a citizen should be someone who first love America and would be willing to live or die for Her; financially self sufficient; should speak decent English; know some good American history (way more than the currently easy test required); and pass a super strict clearance. By the way, I don't even believe that all citizens, born here or not, should vote. Voting should not be a right of all, but a privilege of only the best citizens. The qualifications should be very demanding morally, intellectually, legally, etc. But I know that that could backfire with communist in offices of power, so I don't actually know what the answer is.

I have a better solution; We gather up all these BLM and Antifa shitheads that hate our country, strip them of their citizenship, and deport them to some 3rd world country. For every 5 of those methheads we kick out, we will allow one person from the same country we deported them to come into ours. I know plenty of immigrants that come here and work hard and become American citizens.

Diversity can be a good thing. The left just knows how to apply in the worst way possible by limiting to race/gender. I served in the military for over 20 years and probably the hardest working and most patriotic Soldiers I served with immigrated here from other countries and became U.S. Citizens. They truly showed their patriotism by taking up the ultimate oath to defend our country. That is more than I can say to most of these individuals that are running around dressed in black and waving their fist in the air. They are a bunch of spoiled brats that have been given a free pass and it needs to be taken away.

Yes they do. At least until this point they haven’t given citizenship to 20 million illegals. That will happen with democrats.

I’m all for reforms but I’m not in favor of stripping citizenship from people who did nothing wrong.

4
HillarysLostEmails 4 points ago +4 / -0

They broke the law by coming here illegally. That's wrong.

-2
Sporkninja -2 points ago +1 / -3

There parents broke the law but they became us citizens through a legal process. It’s a dumb legal process but it isn’t their fault. It’s our fault. We granted their citizenship. And I do not agree with stripping citizenship without cause.

So if my parents robbed a bank and gave me the money I get to keep it? Cool.
