( I don't actually own a Hi point, I was just joking) How is the CZ82? I've only a 12.5" ar, and am looking at picking up a handgun. Was looking at Canik Tp9sf
I don't know if you can still pick them up for a reasonable price now, but mine had great sights, a decent trigger and it's a good size I think. it was fairly reliable and very accurate, and I think it had good overall quality. I also picked up a police Czech Police issue leather holster that was great quality, and the Czech Military holster. The military holster doesn't look like a holster and people might confuse it for a utility pouch so that's an interesting tidbit for interested parties.
The biggest negative is it's in 9x18, but at this point it might be easier to find on shelves than 9mm luger. It also was pretty snappy as all simple blowback pistols do no favors for recoil. It was almost painful, like smacking your palm with a pipe.
I looked at a canik. Actually a slightly modified licenced copy of the Walther P99. It's about as good of quality for something mass produced as anything else would be. I remember seeing mags go for $20 each. Mags are mecgar, an OEM for pretty much everyone else. You could certainly do worse.
I bought a CZ82 for cheaper than I was seeing Hipoints locally. You can actually stuff 13 rounds in it too (12+1).
