I'm done backing Cops. I will not ever call for their death or any crazy lefty thing like that, but I am 100% not on team blue.

Any cop anywhere that ever supported or enforced money making law enforcement schemes like speed traps is a corrupt fuck and part of the problem.

184
Libertas_Vel_Mors 184 points ago +189 / -5

Speed traps are a friendly contest, and worthless these days thanks to Waze and similar apps.

Civil Asset Forfeiture on the other hand? Anyone who participated in that theft deserves to be put on the wrong end of a firing squad.

catvideos3 120 points ago +121 / -1

Civil Asset Forfeiture is theft.

-30
PraiseBeToScience -30 points ago +12 / -42

On paper civil asset forfeiture has merit. I believe the idea is that if someone tons a bank you don't want them using the money to fund their legal defense, or quickly converting it into artwork and jewelry. I doubt how it's abused now was it's intent.

No, they exist to help keep society civil. The problem is that elites with influence and money are able to leverage those things to convince cops to work against the interests of the community. But the purpose of cops is and has always been to ensure civility and the adherence of common law. Without police (or in situations where police are prevented from acting) you get situations where crime starts skyrocketing and shit starts getting really bad, we know this both historically and can look at prime examples happening right now with Portland, New York, and Milwaukee

Not at all. The problem is that police, like any other government official, are susceptible to corruption once they become sufficiently insulated from any repercussions.

Town elects a sheriff. Sheriff has a couple marshals. Can round up a posse. Life is pretty good because at the end of the day, Sheriff still needs the town and town needs the sheriff.

Capitol city has their own police with their own special jurisdiction that couldn't give fewer fucks about the populace making a bunch of noise disturbing the ruling class. Did they get too aggressive? Arrest the wrong people? Capitol police investigated themselves and cleared themselves of any wrongdoing.

Nothing should be seized without proper legal proceedings. The 4th amendment exists to protect exactly this issue. CAF is the state rigging the game in its favor.

The courts? You must be a cop. The courts have shown their corruption at every level. More so in 2020 than any year I remember. Police take an oath to follow the constitution and are obliged to not follow unconstitutional laws. They CHOOSE to do what they're told by tyrants. I assume you are one the tyrants in blue who is just doing your job forcing small business to close while working on the weekend for costco

4
SteelMongoose 4 points ago +4 / -0

When an appellate court rules that a law passes constitutional muster and should be enforced, the street cop is supposed to override them and make his own law? That just shifts the tyranny down to the individual level.

An eye opener is to go sit in a traffic court for a few hours and watch the "fairness"

7
Quietam_Unum 7 points ago +7 / -0

I doubt how it's abused now was it's intent.

It has been abused for so long that CBS "60 Minutes" did a story on it back when they used to do actual investigatory journalism.

1
AlohaChris 1 point ago +1 / -0

That’s the problem with giving them extra enforcement powers, it gets abused.

33
magaroll 33 points ago +36 / -3

Why I'm glad the sheriff in my county held a public meeting outside the mayors office at the start of all saying his department will not enforce any order from state or local authorities. The entire force was there and cheered along with about two dozen citizens.

People need to remember police are people not an idea- some or evil some or good. Just don't assume you know which is which based on a commercial or fund raising slogan

26
PraiseBeToScience 26 points ago +27 / -1

The problem is by wearing a uniform you are a collective. Which is why the military takes it seriously when a single uniformed member makes an ass out of themselves to the public.

13
Transgirl_4_Trump 13 points ago +17 / -4

This. I'm free to dress and act like a hooker at home or on the town if I want - it's a free country. But if I so much as twirl my hair when I'm on the clock interacting with a customer, then I would get a talking to from my boss. And that would be 100% justified, because I'm representing my company and everyone in it.

Police have to live by those same rules - and more so - because they represent the government. Don't tell me 'good cops and bad cops'... I don't give a shit about the good cops either if they let assholes walk around wearing the same color blue. I blame all of law enforcement for not keeping their dicks off the street.

4

Abolish police unions.

4
MIpon2 4 points ago +4 / -0

That is the difference is, all depends which agency they work for. Police officers that are employed by their city or township and State police work for the government. But County Sheriff’s are ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE.

6
spicy_deluxe 6 points ago +6 / -0

It really depends on which police force you sign up with as well. There are plenty of police jobs out there, officers don't have to apply to work for evil departments. For example someone that joins up with the ATF while knowing the history of the organization and what they do deserves a particularly nasty fate.

Been seeing people call for civil asset forfeiture of CCP assets used to affect the election here lately.

The appeals process set by the courts that you have to prove that it wasn't used in a crime is the problem, not that asset seizure in the first place. Its like saying that the police can't seize a brick from a rioter when the assailant is not near a construction site, much less one that he is authorized to be at.

9
trollkin0331 9 points ago +9 / -0

Any policy implemented for the purpose of generating revenue instead of morally neutral enforcement of the law is corrupt as fuck.

5
KickingPugilist 5 points ago +6 / -1

Waze only works if a person reports the cop. And if everyone on the road is using waze.

Speed traps are okay when they get the guy doing 100 in a 35, for example.

83
regollyek 83 points ago +84 / -1

When I was in high school, they gave everyone tickets for cutting across traffic to enter the school parking lot. It was super busy and there was no light. It was the only way in.

They gave out 100+ tickets on day. One of my friends got a ticket, and when asked why they didn't help guide traffic the cop said "That's not my job."

TLDR: How to make everyone hate cops.

44
Joesf23 44 points ago +45 / -1

I was in high school late 90s early 2000s in an extremely white suburban area with low crime. The police made their revenue just driving around looking for our parking pass hanging in the rear view mirror and pulled us over for dumbest fucking shit. At night they would pull us over looking for pot or booze. Even if you werent speeding they would say you were "swerving" or acting suspicious. They knew we wouldnt do anything about it because nobody had a fucking lawyer with them. Same depts are now taking a knee for BLM and shutting down business on behalf of "county orders".

13
ValleyForge 13 points ago +13 / -0

When I was 20 I was driving up to my college for New Years and had to take a leak so I took a back road the final leg of the trip instead of the highway to find a bathroom and ended up driving by a cop on patrol. I saw the police car parked on the side of the road and drove extra careful (I was very intimidated by cops back then and had never been pulled over before) The cop immediately pulls up behind me and starts following me with his lights off and once again I’m being extra careful following every law to the best of my ability. Suddenly he turns his lights on, pulls me over and comes up to me and asks me if I’m drunk because I was swerving all over the place and crossed the yellow line multiple times. It was a complete bold face lie and I got ticketed $200 as a broke college kid. I think he targeted me because I had a college sticker on the back of my car. Terrible first experience with a police officer though and I should have fought the ticket in court.

7
Joesf23 7 points ago +7 / -0

Damn, my first ticket at age 16 was that way. Im on my back road going home and out of nowhere I see some jackoff on my bumper at 12:30am with their brights on high beam. I sped up because I didnt know if it was a lunatic or someone I knew screwing with me. Guy starts flashing the high beams and continues to ride my ass until I put my blinker on to pull into my driveway. When I pull in he pops the cherries on. Asshole asks me why I sped up and didnt pull over. I said "If you wanted me to pull over you should have turned the blue and red lights on instead of high beaming me like a stalker". Needless to say he gave me a 43 in 30 ticket (he clocked that when I passed him earlier) instead of the 63 in 30 (when I fled from him). Total shit policing if you ask me.

-4
deleted -4 points ago +1 / -5
2
Joesf23 2 points ago +2 / -0

The ticket for 43 in a 30 was my fault. Him spazing his lights and riding my ass for a mile without turning the cherries on, then getting pissed at me for not pulling over sooner was a dumb move on his part. Especially on a rural back road with no shoulder.

It starts with quotas. Quotas need to go.

Imo, law enforcement should be reactive, not actively out there seeking convictions. If you're told you have to come up with X number of tickets, convictions, drug bust, whatever, you're gonna figure out a way to find them, and it might not always be legit.

2
PraiseBeToScience 2 points ago +4 / -2

The thing is I don't mind traffic enforcement but it's like literally all they do is worry about people speeding on the highway which is a huge who cares. Shouldn't be any speed limits on them anyway.

I would rather have them post up near traffic lights and ban people running reds which happens all the time in Vegas. But they never do. Only just speeding.

2
Birbistheworb 2 points ago +2 / -0

Traffic enforcement is fine. It's the quotas that need to go. Imagine if everybody just stopped speeding and running reds. That cop would STILL be required to come up with a way to fill that quota or be reprimanded.

0
PraiseBeToScience 0 points ago +1 / -1

Change traffic infractions to points without fines, and change it so court costs are regulated so it's not $500 just to see justice, and you'll see this shit change.

They are a standing army; I tell everyone in my family who kisses boot thinking the police would never do anything against the people, that they are the force that always enforces tyranny, gun confiscation and round ups of "unwanted". I am not fond of the police who are jackbooted thugs but they are controlled by corrupt politicians. Like my Governor and his state police.

I'll repeat myself til im blue in the face. I don't hate cops. I don't love cops. I understand they are individuals like most of us. Except they are a cog in a machine. A very big machine that will kill you if you buck back at them. Many of these cogs will act as the machine tells them. I therefore don't trust them. They follow orders and often blindly.

We have no command and control structure. Let alone a command and information structure. They do.

10
SquiggyMcPepe 10 points ago +12 / -2

Depends on where you are talking about. The main places I see this happening are in the commie run cities and states which have had decades to root out decent cops and put in their own jackboots. But thats not the case in the rest of the country.

I haven’t had any negative interactions with any cops since all this hysteria kicked off? Do you live in a lib shithole?

To Protect and Serve

the government.

4
Jarlason10 4 points ago +4 / -0

In New York they don't have to protect or serve according to that court case where the cops let that one guy get almost stabbed to death while they stood back and did nothing. Meanwhile the guy was the one who subdued the threat and the cops got the praise for subduing him.

Cant believe people haven't noticed for years this is what they do, they show up for a check, not your rights.

You just had to go there. I had to scroll back up and look.

12
Centrist_Vet 12 points ago +14 / -2

I have taken down any back the blue or police support in my home. They chose who they back and it isn't Americans or the Constitution, only their own greedy pockets. They protect nothing but the corrupt, they have protected Antifa/BLM while putting innocent women and children in danger.

4
Wholelottarosie1776 4 points ago +4 / -0

Same here. Only flags still standing on my roof and the American Flag and Trump 2020 flag underneath.

I don't wear my NYPD gear anymore, nor do I go out of my way to thank them for their service. I don't hate them, I dont want them dead. I just feel betrayed.

If you think its bad now, just wait til they're replaced with federal police.

Shit, out here in LA they make a minimum of $75K but I personally know several that make $150K with all the overtime they pull. And these are guys who went straight from high school to the academy and were cops by the age of 20 - 21.

Scum of the earth

Then retire at age 55. Get a security job, or become a railroad cop and collect another pension.

Try double that

Geez, the cop hatred that's happening on this website is nuts now. I get it, there are bad fucking cops out there but there are still a lot of good ones. I admit it, I was full Back the Blue leading up to the election but no anymore. I get it, don't blindly support cops but I will not blindly shit on them and call them fucking pigs as well.

can confirm!!! My mom is retired NYPD Sgt and was a CUNT on a massive power trip. I havent spoken to her in 6 years now. Best decision ever.

My recent ex is an NYPD Sgt, insecure to the fullest. Was actually mad at me and threw a temper tantrum because I shot better than him at the range, when I never picked up a gun until he taught me. He shit all over my happiness if i did anything better than him.

Another cop I went on a few dates with said he used to be a geek that everyone would make fun of. He had a dead end job at Best Buy and decided to join the NYPD. I ditched him as soon as he started asking me for money.

They are all sensitive babies that hate the world and want to get back at those that abused them.

2
Homopratensis2 2 points ago +2 / -0

My experience as well. I was a forensic scientist who would listen in the breakroom. Never a bunch of more socially pathological people have I known. There's a reason why they have such staggeringly high rates of domestic abuse/divorce.

KekistanPM 7 points ago +7 / -0

The House of Representatives is full of people against us. The Senate is full of people against us. The Supreme Court is full of people against us. The police are full of people against us. Many of our governors, mayors and civil servants are against us.

All we want to do is be left alone to live our lives lawfully and honesty. But today that's just far too much to ask.

2
Chief_Niggums 2 points ago +2 / -0

Highly underrated statement

7

Cops who uphold the constitution get my full support.

Cops who don't are my enemy. No quarter.

Simple as that.

A lot of very solid Back the Blue supporters have gone from that to Keep an Eye on the Blue......and Cops only have themselves and their leadership to blame.

I look at the times Patriots are arrested versus Antifa/BLM......says a lot right there.

4

Maybe the lefties were right - should we defund the police? :D

I'm even starting to think they may have been right (but for the wrong reasons, as usual) about drastically reducing the defense budget.

SCAB: Some Cops are Bastards

Seriously I'm done with the bootlicking bullshit

4
Throwingway22 4 points ago +6 / -2

Back the Sheriffs, don't back the blue. Your local sheriff is accountable to the voters, not the despotic governors and mayors. Some sheriffs cucked, like all cucked politicians we are responsible for remembering and paying it back in kind. City and State police forces aren't any different than the FBI--mostly career bureaucrats playing in their own (smaller) swamps. It shouldn't be a surprise that the only police forces that have refused any of these unconstitutional orders where local sheriffs, just like the only offices that have refused gun grabs and other bogus laws have been sheriffs.

I'll take a corrupt local sheriff that bashes in a yuppie tail light over the diversity hire police forces in cities any day.

police are going to have a hard time when neither political base supports them.

3
LordofNorthMesquite 3 points ago +4 / -1

I think its just another front of the war. It is a political goal to demoralize the police and get the people not to trust them. Ive seen cops. I know they have a hard job and 98% are just normal citizens. My concern is IF the cops dont get support when they do good, they will quit. and rightfully so. Its not worth the risk. the problem is the left will fill the void with something. that something is FAR and away worse then what we have now. Hold bad cops accountable but back the blue when they do right. Just one guys opinion dont put too much stock in it.

4
wholesomekangz100 4 points ago +4 / -0

Why Back the Blue when the Blue doesn’t back you? Remember that famous rally this summer where BackTheBlue cuckolds got assaulted by antifa while the cops stood there doing nothing? US Marshals had to be sent in order to take care of the Patriot killer in Portland. Portland Police did jackshit. The police is never anyone’s friend.

Whats the name of this comic? I kinda wanna read the original version of this

3
MeatShield72 3 points ago +6 / -3

I am glad I was never a huge Back the Blue guy...they are "authority" and we must always question authority. I was more of a Back the Human being behind the badge kind of guy.

It has always been said that the police would always stand with the communists and the military would always stand for the free...half of this is playing out in real time.

2
liberty4alll 2 points ago +3 / -1

I’m the same way. A cop is a guy who puts on a bullet-proof vest to go to work every morning. I respect that. But if a cop ever suspects I’m guilty of something, I’ll be civil, but I’m not saying a damn thing.

1
Homopratensis2 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nobody makes him. He does it for money. If was wwweewwy sooo scaaawd he'd quit and do something else for a living. The fuckers who let a whole crowd of people get gunned down by that psychopath in Vegas was the end of my pholsophical backing of law enforcement. They didn't hold up their end of the bargain.

1
wholesomekangz100 1 point ago +3 / -2

Nah, fuck the human being behind the badge and fuck empathy in politics. When the commie state comes people turn on each other real fast and these “humans” will be the ones guarding the gulags. Empathy and other lovey dovey bs is for women and cucks.

1
zooty 1 point ago +3 / -2

I think the mistake many people made was that "Defund the police" wasn't against the police, it was against law and order and the law abiding citizenry. "Back the blue" wasn't really the appropriate counter to it (but close enough for most purposes).

3
Truglow 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's the sad truth. I am done with them.

3
benfranklin207 3 points ago +3 / -0

2
