Unfair. My local cops are all pretty cool but I live in a small town. When you get into a big city that has thousands of cops then you get all types including the bullies.

I'll repeat myself til im blue in the face. I don't hate cops. I don't love cops. I understand they are individuals like most of us. Except they are a cog in a machine. A very big machine that will kill you if you buck back at them. Many of these cogs will act as the machine tells them. I therefore don't trust them. They follow orders and often blindly.
We have no command and control structure. Let alone a command and information structure. They do.
Depends on where you are talking about. The main places I see this happening are in the commie run cities and states which have had decades to root out decent cops and put in their own jackboots. But thats not the case in the rest of the country.
I never had a bad encounter with a cop during the seventies or eighties. They even followed us home when we got too drunk. One of them was my old man's drinking buddy.
After 1990, I've never had a good encounter with a cop, except for the time I had a breakin, and my son in law on the force took the call.

They are sheriffs actually and we also have a fairly large militia run by the sheriffs. Not every 'cop' is a big city jackboot.
