So the ultimate form of law is the individual officer because they must follow only their own ethics, which hopefully align with yours because if they don't you are fucked. Not a great look.

Read the responses to what SteelMongoose said.

What is best is a government which follows the Constitution from the top down and then back up. Telling police to ignore orders you don't agree with and think they shouldn't agree with is the beginning of a long dark road.

Better to change the law than pick and choose what is law and what is law but not really though.

I said read, as in the constitution, the supreme law of the land. Nowhere do I say to do what their personal ethics says...that's your nutty idea. Or was it a straw man? Or a misunderstanding?
