Because that couldn't be related to unhealthy diet, bad genetics, or Birth control pills. (Yes, they actually list that as a side effect of birth control)
Sepsis can happen so quickly. I question if they are treating for secondary infections or are they just throwing antivirals at them. I haven't worked as a nurse for 3 years and it's like I'm in the twilight zone.
But some Doctors treat the patient like a walking wallet. Say things to scare them, have more "tests" and what not they don't really need and then they are worse off than they started with.
I'm in hospitals a lot, I have an ongoing issue but the last Nurse I had was completely awesome. Great bedside manner, cheery, answered all my questions thouroughly, even made sure I had everything I needed and wasn't just left in the bed, ignored.
Sometimes I thing Nurses are better than Doctors, they do all the work, deal with patients more, and don't just pop in for 5 minutes then charge $1,500 for a "Detailed consultation"
They always show these people who are twice my weight, perfect teeth, well taken care of, and meanwhile I'm like . . . . "Can I really justify that $17 holiday box of Peppermint bark?"

It depends on the hospital I suppose.
